What is SMT PCB Assembly?
SMT, the full name is surface mount technology. SMT is a way to mount the components or parts onto the printed circuit board (PCB). Due to the better outcome and higher efficiency, SMT has become the primary approach used in the process of PCB assembly.
SMT PCB Assembly Capabilities
PCBANow has 8 SMT PCB assembly lines, fully equipped for manufacturing various PCBAs. High mix SMT assembly, therefore, we always have a high level of flexibility, which allows us to efficiently meet all our customer requirements and deliver electronic products within deadlines.
We are proud of that our SMT PCB assembly capabilities are superior to our competitors. In PCBANow the staffs are well trained and very good at finishing excellent SMT assembly work.

SMT PCB Assembly Processing
1.Material inspection and preparation
The first step involves inspecting the PCB and electronic components, we ensure that all defects are ruled out before production, and the complete process is planned according to the work instructions.
2.Stencil & Machine programming
The high-precision steel mesh will be used in SMT placement, and the automatic placement machine and AOI inspection equipment will be debugged in the best state according to the XY file.
3.Solder paste printing
Solder paste is basically a mixture of tin and flux that we use to connect the pads to the electronic components on the PCB, sometimes red glue is attached to make sure no drop out during double-sided reflow.
4.High-speed pick and placement
We then use automated machines to pick and place PCBs, we have a capacity of nearly 1 million points per hour.
5.Reflow
After placement, we put PCBs in a reflow oven. Reflow soldering takes place in multiple stages, each involving a specific heating zone, in which the temperature matters, and our 12-temperatures reflow ovens take care of it very well.
6.Cleaning and Inspection
We then clean the PCB and look for any possible defects, inspection includes post-reflow AOI, X-ray inspection for BGA, etc.
7.Testing
We use strict testing standards and a series of methods for PCBA performance testing, including reliability testing, functional testing, burn-in testing, etc., to ensure the final delivery of high-quality products.
